I don’t know why, but I just don’t feel like blogging lately. I am forcing myself to write this because I should probably be posting about Gavin. To keep it short, he was admitted to the ER for what ended up being viral pneumonia. It was a very scary experience and I am not quite recovered from it. Either is Gavin. He has been and still is on steroids and albuterol. For the most part life is getting back to normal. I went to work and Holly has done some laundry and Gavin has been watching Thomas and playing with his trains. He has been more active and more aggressive than normal due to the streroids. We love him very much and it is way too scary to think of anything horrible happening to him.

Growing up
It seems as if all of a sudden Gavin is growing up. It started with him getting his own bed. He absolutely loved the idea of getting his own bed and when we finally got one for him, he still loves it. He naps in it and sleeps half the night in it. That is only because he wakes up in the middle of the night looking to nurse. But since Holly is not quite ready to let him go completely he is happily accepted into our bed for the rest of the night. Just following that we bought him a little night stand for next to his bed, which he now has a little lamp and his bedtime books. He loves it. Now he has gone 3 days of peeing in his little potty all by himself. We let him run around naked all day, and when he feels he has to pee, he just goes in the potty. Just like that. And today, he pooped in the potty all by himself. Something he has not quite the hang of. At night he doesn’t really pee at all like he used to. He holds it and then pees in the morning. He is getting so big. He is growing up so fast. In spurts it seems. Within no time at all it seems he will need his own room all together. Then what will we do? We will have to buy a new house.
We found a bed
Here is Gavin reading a book in his new bed. He enjoys his bed very much. He takes his naps on it and he sleeps on it through half of the night. That would be until he wakes up and needs to nurse. Then he hops up in our bed for the remainder of the night. Which is fine. He’ll get there. He’s so cute. As you can see we also bought him a little drawer to go next to his bed so that he can keep his books on it and his night time clothes in the drawers. We also bought a little reading lamp as you can see. It is quite a cozy space. What you can’t see is that on our bed we bought a beautiful bed spread to have a little change. Every bit counts.
Search for a bed
It is about time for Gavin to have a bed of his very own. Why? Because we would like a bed of our very own. That is not the only reason. Anyway, since we decided to get Gavin his own bed, I left the house at 1:30 pm on a mission. I first went to the obvious places. First being Wal Mart. How disappointing. They had nothing. Nothing at all. Well, they had a really nice futon, but I already have a bed. So next I went to K-mart. They had more of a selection. Ok, so maybe their selection only consisted of a particle board youth bed that was falling apart just from sitting on display and having it’s plastic screws falling out of it, but still, it was more than Wal Mart had. Disappointed, I left and got ready to leave when I realized that I had a phone book in the back of my car. I looked up a few furniture places and found that there was a strictly-youth furniture store about 10 minutes from there. A place called Flexa. It really was nice stuff. Beautiful kids beds and furniture. The lady was really nice. Unfortunately it would cost me like $350 to buy a bed with a mattress for Gavin there. So I moved on. I raced across the island (it was now 4pm and I had to be to work at 5) to a place called Naked Furniture. They apparently sell unfinished furniture. Expensive unfinished furniture. I thought the idea of selling unfinished furniture was that it would be less expensive. Oh well. From there I zoomed across the island with my uniform in the back seat to Aikahi theatre where I spent the remainder of the night. I have to say I was disappointed at the lack of selection of toddler beds on the island. The Flexa furniture was nice, but just a little out of price range. Who knows, maybe I we can find it cheaper online. Or maybe we will just find a cheaper bed.
New look
As you can already see, I’ve updated the look of my blog. It’s about time. I hope you like it.
