2007

Well, the new year has begun. I I’m lookin forward to 2007. It will truely be a new year for me. We kicked it off at Aloha Tower Marketplace with an awesome fireworks show and $3 Bud Light draught. I met Mary, Holly and Gavin at the marketplace at around 10pm. Chis, Beth and Reed also were there. Beth and Reed manned the tables and chairs while watching the boys. Mary, Holly and I took turns going to the bar to get drinks. Mary and I mostly went back and forth between the bar and our table, while Holly experimented with being single and chatted with guys and (oops) gave out her number. We all had a good time. It was charming actually. Gavin and Chris stood in line and received free balloons shaped like a flower and, well, not sure what the other one was. It looked like a smiley balloon on top of a cinnamon twist stick. They enjoyed the balloons tremendously though. The fireworks show was 10 minutes long and really awesome. They were set off from a barge just out in the bay a bit and we stood on the second floor of Aloha Tower. With Gavin on my shoulders and Holly in the bathroom, we counted down; 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, Happy New Years! And the fireworks started. Gavin oohed and aaahed and laughed and had a great time. He stayed up all the way until he got into his carseat for the ride home. But before doing so, we sat on the stone wall in the parking lot and lit a box of sparklers for fun. And it was.

New Years Day was very good and relaxed. Holly started the day first at 5:30am. Then Gavin at around 7:30 or so. Then me at around 8. Then finally Mary around 9. We had buscuits and gravy for breakfast. We sat around and played and talked and cleaned and then went to watch a movie. For dinner, Chris, Beth and Reed came over and we had Ribs, Hoppin’ John, corn, and Okra. I was so full. The food was absolutely awesome. For desert we had Pecan pie and peach cobbler with lots of whipped cream. It was a very good day. We all had genuine smiles on our faces.

And that is just the start of 2007. Bye 2006. I’m glad to be rid of you. Hello 2007.
