Pre School

Today is Gavin’s first day of pre-school. He is very excited. We brought his paperwork in yesterday and he was very upset that he couldn’t stay. We let him roam around and play on the playground and with the other kids. Within the first 5 minutes, half the kids knew his name and one kid said that he was a Gecko dumbhead. Hmmmm. Anyway. He is very excited.

I have moved more stuff into our new house. Internet comes on Tuesday the 22nd. Which means we can move in beds and go shopping and actually stay there. I can’t wait. It will be a bit of work, but well worth it.

Our car is back from the shop and works great. There was a big mess with the warranty people, but that was all sorted out. Now we have a car with A/C and windows that work and locks that work and all kinds of stuff that works. I like our car.

This is the second day now. I have been getting tired around 6pm and falling asleep around 7 or 8. Then I wake up between 2 and 4 am. Stupid jet lag. But it is sort of ok, because I now have to get up everyday around 5 am anyway to bring Gavin to school and drop Holly off at work so that I will have a car to pick Gavin up from school at noon. Of course then, I have to pick Holly up from work at 3.

Anyway, it’s about time to go. This will be an interesting and fund day for Gavin. When I get home, I will put on my new Karate Depot shirt and work. lol.

Vacation!?.

Vacation is over. What a two weeks it was. I haven’t yet sorted through the 800 pictures yet. And no, that is not a dramatization. Yay for digital cameras. Although, I am very sad that we had to delete a few. Sigh. Those were some of the best ones too. I can’t believe it is over. It was a vacation that I will never forget for so many reasons. I am finding hard to even put into words. How do you describe a vacation like this? I don’t think I will. Not now anyway. But when I sort through those pictures, I will put some up. And maybe next year, I will even get them on to our personal photo page.

(stupid post vacation blues)

Again

Gavin fell asleep in Granny’s room last night. Again, he slept there all night long. It’s kind of neat actually. Plus it will make things a little easier when we move. Yes, Holly and I got an apartment only a few minutes down the road. Gavin will have his own room with his own bed and own closet. Gavin saw the house and picked which room will be his. He also likes the fact that it is a pink house. Now there is nothing we can do about that, but we will paint the inside a bit. We will be getting the keys on Monday or early Tuesday. That way if we want, while we are packing for our flight out on Friday, if there are things we think don’t need to be here, we can move them to our new apt. Sweet. And when we get back from our awesome 2 week vacation, we can fully move into our new place. I can’t wait. This is so exciting. Check back for current event information and updates.

Sleeping in Granny’s Room

I had a very strange feeling this morning as I woke up. Last night after Gavin’s nightly routine with Granny, he fell asleep in her bed. He slept there the entire night. When I woke up this morning there was no Gavin in our bed. It was so strange. Gavin is growing up. Although I think he only did that because he gets to stay up longer when he stays in Granny’s room. Plus, Granny has a TV in her room. Anyway, it was just really strange waking up in the morning (or any time during the night for that matter) and not having Gavin laying next to me because he is sleeping in another room. But if we get our own place soon, then Gavin will have his own room. He will probably sleep with us still, but he will be getting some more freedom. A place all his own. I love him.

4th of July

What a day. Although it seemed a little long. To keep it short, I’ll say that Holly was kind of drunk at noon, I had 4 beers by 3, we had 4th of July BBQ at 11:30, ice cream at 4:30, and then we sat in the twilight zone until fireworks at 8. Between 4:30 and 8 we went up into the mountain at Hawaii Kai to a strange place. It was a big fancy house that proves that you can be rich and have a big house and have no sense of style or taste. Half of the “grown ups” were going over a play we are to perform in a few month while the other half of the “grown ups” were heavily discussing the dynamics and politics of, no not scud missiles from North Korea, but rather their favorite Star Wars games. They were both trained Jedis don’t you know. Holly and I meandered around and watched the kids flail and jump around like monkey as they watched Tom and Jerry for 2 hours. Weird. Oh, did I mention that this fancy house had a military armored car and medic vehicle in the drive way. That meant they had to park their Hummer on the street. Awww.

btw, see if you can find the Mickey Mouse and the smiley face in the last video.
