Short hair quickly becomes a good thing…

So I cut my hair again. It is now only a few inches long.

I did this because I was getting insane hair styles after removing my newly purchased motorcycle helmet. Well, this time I inspired Gavin. He tugged my arm and said, “cut my hair dad”. It was so clear. So I asked him if he really wanted me to cut his hair short like dads, or if he wanted long hair like moms. “Cut my hair short like dads”, he replied. He pushed our “hair-cut chair” over into the center of the room and then handed me a pair of scissors. I think he is serious. I wasn’t sure about cutting it as short as mine (besides, I didn’t know how good a hair cut I could give), so I sat him down on the chair wrapped a towel around his neck and proceeded to cut off just a few inches.

Later that night when Holly picked up Gavin from work, she saw the deed which Gavin requested. I explained to her the length of which Gavin went to get me to cut his hair. Personally, I think I did a pretty good job. But the next morning I was woke up by some strange little boy.

Holly decided that 1. If Gavin asked to have his hair short, then we should oblige him. 2. That the hair cut I gave him, even though it was shorter, made him look more like a girl.
So she took him to the hair salon and got him a haircut.

Then bought him a dohnut of victory.

So that was yesterday. Last night, aparently, Gavin was not feeling up to par and last night around 9:30 pm Gavin kind of exploded from both ends. Vomitting and diahrea, which was not expected, covered our bed and ruined our bedding. The blanket though, was needing to be relieved of its duties anyway. So it was a rough night of many trips to the bathroom and many pairs of ruined undergarments and towels. *sigh* Poor Gavin. He was very upset and grossed out by the whole thing. He didn’t like messing things. We assured him that it was o.k. and that it wasn’t his fault. He was sick. This continued into the morning until about 10:30 am. At this point he stopped making frequent trips to the bathroom (we needed a new bathroom rug anyway). At the same time, he was not really eating any food. He ate 1 1/2 puddings, one bite of banana, a couple M&M’s, and that’s about it. On the plus side, I have never seen him drink so much water. Such a good boy. He was in pretty good spirits despite his ailment. Then around 3:00 pm he made yet another trip to the bathroom and wasted yet another pair of underwear. *sigh* He will be venturing out with Granny tonight to pick up Holly from class. I wished them the best of luck on their journey and headed off for work. I do love my little family.

Yet another humdrum blog.

I feel like crap today. I went to O’Tooles bar last night and had a pretty good time. Got home at 12:30 am and woke up at 5:45 am this morning so Holly and Mary can go to UH. They will be gone all day and I have to bring Gavin to work where they will pick him up. He has not been up to par today. Ran a slight fever this morning and has had diarrhea all day. Although he only messed his pants once. He fell asleep early as we returned from filling our gas tank before yet another gas price increase. Now he is napping on the couch and I am blogging. I received the temporary registration from Honda in the mail today. Now I need to get my lisence so I can ride to work and save gas. I don’t know if I am ready for the road test. Speaking of which. I need to call WCC and find out when my motorcycle course will be held. Next month I head back to NY for my brother’s wedding. I don’t know why, but I feel like I am not ready. I long to see Jeannie. But other than that I don’t feel like this is an important trip. Seeing my family will be like seeing my family, which the past couple of times has not been as pleasant as one could hope. Will it be different because Holly is not going? Lose-lose situation here. If things don’t change then that will annoy me because that would mean that that is the way my family is. If things do change then I will be mad because that means maybe they really don’t like Holly. Stupid family politics. But like I said. I long to see Jeannie again. And that in itself will be worth the trip.

A Nice Day.

I had a nice day today. Basically what I did was spend the morning with the family eating pancakes and playing with Thomas the Train. Then at noon, Holly put Gavin down for his nap. The Honda dealership called and said that the Rebel would not be delivered today, but tomorrow for sure. So after Gavin fell asleep, Holly and I ventured out to Honolulu near the airport to a place called Cycle City. We ooohed and aaahhhhed at all the motorcycle toys. But our main purpose was to buy a new helmet and a pair of gloves. We looked at all the different kinds of helmets. They had a really nice matte black 3/4 helmet that I wanted, but Holly thought that it would get too dirty (oily) and scratched too fast. And they only had that helmet in XS size. I needed a Medium. I ended up with a really nice shiny black 3/4 helmet. I like it. It fits great and its black. Then I picked out a pair of cheap black gloves. As we walked around we looked at all the bike covers, motorcycles, jackets, shirts, hats, and every other type of accessory you could think of. It was huge. So then we paid for our stuff and headed back home just in time for Gavin to wake up. He never knew we were gone. Of course Mary was home watching him. So don’t think we abandoned him. But it was a very enjoyable outing with my wife. And tomorrow while Holly is over at work in Honolulu, I will be home preparing a welcome ceremony for our new family member. I can’t wait to ride it for the first time. Even if it is just around a parking lot.

Not-So-Boring News

In boring news, I have finally hired someone at the theatre. It has been about a month that we have been short handed. The grievance thing with our janitor is being sorted out. I have handed everything over to the professional grievance people. I faxed them and called them and gave them all the information I have on the situation. They will now deal with the union and possibly (most likely) some lawyers about the whole thing and that will be that.

In not-so-boring news, I bought a motorcycle today. I went over to Honda Motorcycles and bought a motorcycle. At the same time I got my insurance for the bike and registered for the motorcycle course given by University of Hawaii. Which is good, cause not only will I be able to get my state driving test wavered, but I will get an extra 15% off my insurance. Awesome. So now here is the shocker. I didn’t buy the ’96 Nighthawk. That’s right, I bought the 2005 Rebel. And do you know why? This is my logic of thinking. If I buy the ’96 Nighthawk, then the bike will not be warranted. Also, we would plan on upgrading to the Rebel sometime early in ’06 when Holly is graduated and we are not so tight on money. So we would then sell the Nighthawk (for not as much as we bought it) and buying the Rebel. Now If I buy the Rebel, then I get a warranted bike, I wouldn’t have to take a money loss for selling the nighthawk, the insurance cost of both bikes is equal, and if I put 1/2 of the money down that I was originally going to put down, then my monthly payments will still be only $60/month and then the other 1/2 of the down payment would be enough money to pay the monthly payments for about 6 or 7 months. This will get us through until Holly is graduated and money is not so tight. So, either way our payment situation is the same no matter which motorcycle we buy. The only difference being that if I buy the Rebel, we will have a new warranted bike and wouldn’t have to go through the hassle of selling and buying a bike in Feb (or whatever month in early ’06).

So there you have it. I now own a brand new 2005 Honda Rebel.
