Add it to my blog…

I don’t know how, but I seem to have more time. I think it has to do with Holly going to school and me spending more time with Gavin. I don’t know why that is. It is good though. I find it somewhat relaxing. I have been spending more time drawing and writing. I kind of lost that for a bit. But then I come to the same stump that I always to. What to draw, what to write. Grrrr. So I do what I always do. Work on a drawing I already started. Write about nothing and add it to my blog…
Black is the day you learn to pray. Dark is the moment you’re free from torment. Here is the day you will learn to hate. Now is the time you will want to die. Light will want to dissipate. You’ll want to tell the world Goodbye.
The shadow of abomination takes what it pleases and darkens it’s destination.
Places unknown have never been seen, lost to the world, yet far from a dream.
So go to sleep, take a deep breath, forget where you are and dream for death.

New Post

I am adding a newe post because I haven’t posted in a bit. I can’t think of too much to say. I can do more complaining about the theatre… but I won’t. Yesterday, Holly and Mary had class. They left me around 3 or so. Maybe earlier. I don’t quite remember. Anyway, I called up my friend Gabe and ended up at his house. I though we would let our sons play together. So Gavin and Adam (Gabes son) had an interesting afternoon together. Gavin wasn’t sure if he should be scared or not. Adam is 2 months younger than Gavin and loves to hug and kiss. Gavin has never really been a snugly baby. It worked out ok though. Gavin got a little more comfortable with Adam. They watched “Shrek” and played with some strange blinky singing toys. Gavin doesn’t get that at home, so he was naturally interested. They banged on the drums together and ate mac and cheese together. Gavin really wanted to make sure that Dad was around the whole night. I think that Gavin will get used to Adam and vise versa. Eventually (hopefully) Adam will lose interest in hugging and kissing Gavin and just want to play. Overall, I think it was a good night. Gavin needs to start playing with other kids. Besides his crazy cousin Chris. That is a whole other blog. Maybe two or three. After we got home from Gabe’s house, Gavin was a little relieved. Tired though. He sat and watched 2 eposodes of Blues Clues. Then it was time for his bath. He enjoyed his bath for a while before getting out, brushing his teeth and looking at “baby” in the mirror. Then he called for mommy. Of course she was at class so we went in to put clothes on and lay down. He was so good. He layed there as I sang to him (nothing great) and he whimpered for no more than 5 seconds before falling alseep. So good. I had a good day with him. It is so nice to not have to work so much at the theatre. Thank you Holly for going to school.

Following suit.

So now that Holly’s iMac is up and running, it’s time to get some work done. But wait. No, I can’t. My computer doesn’t work. Crap. Oh crap. So I called Apple Care for some help, hoping it wasn’t what happened to the iMac. I spent 2 hours on the phone with a really nice, patient lady. She walked me through many procedures that are supposed to cure things like this. After two hours, she told me she can’t stay on the phone any longer, but to run utility disk again, and if it does not work to blow up my computer and buy another one. Ok, she didn’t say that, but she said there is not much hope for it. I then called my boss to explain to him what had happened and that I would not be able to do any work that day. Or possibly the next, or the next… He suggested what I was thinking of doing. Buy another hard drive, use it for booting up, and then retrieve all the files off of the other computer. This I did. On Thursday, I went off to Comp USA to buy a hard drive. Grrr, I bought the wrong one. How am I supposed to know that I own one of the first computer to use a Serial ATA drive and not an Ultra ATA drive? Since Holly and Mary had class that night, I took Gavin to return the hard drive and get the correct one. While we were out, we stopped at Ward Center for dinner. We went in to Mocha Java and ordered a milk shake and an omelet. Gavin of course didn’t really want the eggs, but he love the jelly and toast that came with it. He also switched on and off between the shake and a cup of water I picked up for him. He seemed to be satisfied. With both of our tummies being full, we drove across the street to the beach where we spent the next hour and a half playing “toss the rock”. The rock was really a little piece of coral, but what does he know? It was a really nice evening with Gavin. He was the perfect little boy. Unfortunately I did too good of a job wearing him out and he fell asleep on the way home at 6:45 pm. Thinking he was asleep for 3 hours, he decided not to go to bed until 9:30 pm or so. Oh well. At least he got to see mommy before going to sleep.
Here I am two days later. My computer is all back to normal. Even better actually. I now have two hard drives each around 130 GB. I also have a really cool screen saver that I found that turns my computer into a fish tank when it sleeps. Gavin really likes that. Now all I have to do is catch up on all the work I missed.

Here I am again

So things have been crazy. Our iMac decided to act up in the middle of Holly’s homework. First the time would reset, then programs acted up, then classic wouldn’t start. So I ran a few tests, fiddled with a few settings and whuala. Nothing happened. So I did what any normal person would do. I reinstalled OS X. That didn’t help a thing. You think it would, but no. All I got was a blue screen with the time on it. So I restarted the computer in OS 9 and that worked. So as a last resort, we transferred all useful information to my computer upstairs via air, and reinstalled OS X again, this time formatting the hard drive. Now all is good. The computer works wondrously. I have transferred back about 90% of the files. Now we just need to reinstall photoshop. We can compute again. Poor Holly was freaking out a little because she had homework to print out and hand in that day. On top of that, she cannot log on to the school library site to do part of her homework because of some loan nonsense. Anyway. Gavin had another good day. Although, he spent a lot of time throwing things and hearing “No, don’t throw”. He was good though. He went with me on an emergency call across the street to the theatre where he watched in amazement as the film projectors spun and turned. Ooooooo. Then we went down to the lobby where he played in the game room and enjoyed an unlimited supply of popcorn. Oh he liked that. I received another “So What!” magazine today and will spend some time at work looking at it. It is a photo edition. Yay. I have been really tired recently. It is because of my late hours. Sometimes I even get headaches from it. At the same time, I do things like stay at Gabe’s house until midnight, when I know I have to get up and watch Gavin at 7am. I’ll deal with it. I am also a little stressed for time these days. I have the theatre work almost every night. Then during the weekdays, I work KarateDepot.com for 4 hours or so, and then I have RSCDS board meetings and what not. Plus I am updating the RSCDS website constantly because we have some events coming up that need lots of planning. Oh and I also created a flyer for them to be sent out to CA, Japan, TX, and some other states to other RSCDS branches. Tomorrow, I am going to yet another meeting to discuss this years RSCDS tee shirts and in the evening, going to a meeting at the theatre to discuss some issues and training crap for the captains, AKA “Fake cheap labor projectionists who are expected to run the theatre for $7 and hour”. In the mean time, I would like to spend a few hours with my family. Holly going to school allows me to spend more time with Gavin, which is great. But then I don’t get to see Holly as much, and it cuts in to my KarateDepot time. On the plus side, I have a date with Holly tomorrow. Mary is going to watch Gavin in the afternoon, so Holly and I can go to the MOVIES. We are going to watch “Hero”. It is nice spending time with her. With all that said. My life is good. I am busy, I have a great little family, I am in Hawaii, I get free movies and half off food, own a G5 and a VW Jetta, and have rent which is 1/2 to 1/4 of what most people pay in Hawaii. What more can a guy ask for? Chocolaaaattteeeeee (drool)

A few things

Well, it’s been about a week I think since I posted last. Holly has started her classes and I’ve been spending lots of time with Gavin. Yesteday, Holly and her mom had class in the evening and didn’t get back until 8:30 pm. I put Gavin to bed for the first time without his mom present. He didn’t like it much. He called out “mom” when it was time for bed, and when I told him mommy wansn’t home, he started crying. He eventually cried himself to sleep. It was a good day.
Sal IM’ed me yesterday afternoon. I decided to turn on my webcam and show him Gavin and to my surprise, he has an iSight. So we did some conferencing for a while. His cam has a microphone so I actually got to hear his voice too. It was way cool. We are going to do this more often. Gavin thought it was cool. He laughed at Sal a few times. I have to get a microphone so he can here Gavin.
I must go. Time to close the theatre. I am at Koolau tonight. Til next time…
